Location
Springfield is the county seat of Robertson County, one of the most beautiful agricultural counties in the southeastern United States.Springfield is approximately 30 minutes from downtown Nashville and all of the varied artistic, cultural, educational, historic, restaurant, and sports attractions available in a large city. Nashville is also the state capital and “Music City USA.”
Springfield is the home of NorthCrest Medical Center, a 109 bed state of the art hospital and medical arts campus. Springfield’s proximity to Nashville also provides easy access to some of the nation’s best hospitals.
Attractions
The Legacy, a Raymond Floyd signature golf course, is one of the best 18-hole municipal golf courses in the state of Tennessee.
The Highland Crest - College Campus offers courses to students enrolled in Volunteer State Community College or Austin Peay State University. Volunteer State Community College offers an associate degree program and Austin Peay State University offers a bachelor degree program. The campus also offers a variety of continuing education classes.
The Greenway is a scenic three-mile hike and bike trail that connects J. Travis Price Park and Garner Street Park along Sulphur Fork Creek, and winds through the Historic Preservation District and The Square.
The Robertson County Players, a non-profit community theatre and one of the oldest in Tennessee, produces several plays and musicals a year at the historic, 800 seat Springfield Middle School Auditorium which has one of the finest proscenium stages in the southeast.

Historical
The Square, surrounding the Robertson County Courthouse, is on the National Register of Historic Places and is bordered by aesthetically pleasing older buildings, almost all of which were constructed in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The buildings house restaurants, specialty shops, and professional offices. The Robertson County Times and the Robertson County History Museum are also located on The Square.
The Robertson County History Museum, operated by the Robertson County Historical Society, is located in the "Old Post Office" Building, on The Square, at 124 Sixth Avenue. The chief purpose of the museum is to collect and preserve items of historical importance to Roberston County, Tennessee. The museum provides educational and entertaining exhibits, programs and activities for persons of all ages.
The Springfield Historic Preservation District is an attractive and walkable residential area of older homes that adjoins The Square and the Greenway. Springfield Middle School, Cheatham Park Elementary School, Stokes Brown Public Library and Garner Street Park are all located within the Historic Preservation District.

The Farmers Market, located at the Robertson County Fairgrounds, is open every Saturday morning beginning the 1st weekend in May through the last weekend in October and offers for sale fresh agricultural products grown and produced in Robertson County.
The Springfield Parks and Recreation Department offers numerous youth and adult sports programs, as well as exercise and recreational programs for persons of all ages.
Springfield Middle School hosts the annual T-N-T Basketball Tournament for both boys and girls middle school teams from throughout the state of Tennessee. The tournament is held during 3 weekends in February of each year.
United Way of Robertson County holds an annual barbeque cook-off as its major fundraiser and hosts Chili on The Square every Halloween.
The Springfield Federation of Women’s Clubs holds their annual Christmas Sampler during the 1st weekend of November at The Center.
