Emergency Preparedness

The City of Springfield prepares and trains its staff to anticipate and respond to emergency situations that may endanger lives and property in the community.  In the event of an event, the City Manager provides the leadership for the city workforce, in coordination with local, state and federal emergency management officials.

Emergency Communications

The Emergency Communications function for all police, fire and emergency medical agencies is centralized in the Robertson County Emergency Communications Center located at 115 Pinnacle Drive, Springfield, TN 37172. The quickest contact number by telephone is "911." The non-emergency number is 615-384-4911. Website: www.robertson911.com

The City of Springfield has installed an outdoor warning system using an omni-directional high powered voice and siren system. The system is used to notify the public in the event of tornado warnings and other types of natural and man-made disasters. The warning siren is tested on the first Saturday of every month at noon.

The City website has the functionality for the City to post emergency management information before, during and after an event. Citizens can sign up for emergency notifications. In the event of a disaster, the city will post regular updates to the website to keep citizens informed.

Homeland Security

The City is actively involved in the activities of Tennessee Homeland Security District #7 which encompasses seven (7) counties including Robertson County. The member agencies share training and resources so that they are able to work with one another in the event of a disaster event.
