The City of Springfield has installed an outdoor warning system using an omni-directional high powered voice and siren system. The system is used to notify the public in the event of tornado warnings and other types of natural and man-made disasters. The warning siren is tested on the first Saturday of every month at noon.
The City website has the functionality for the City to post emergency management information before, during and after an event. Citizens can sign up for emergency notifications. In the event of a disaster, the city will post regular updates to the website to keep citizens informed.
Homeland Security
The City is actively involved in the activities of Tennessee Homeland Security District #7 which encompasses seven (7) counties including Robertson County. The member agencies share training and resources so that they are able to work with one another in the event of a disaster event.
