Springfield Police seek help in identifying an armed robbery suspect


SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. – The Springfield Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in an armed robbery.

On November 12, 2020, at approximately 10:30 p.m., the suspect entered Sam’s Market located at 202 Central Avenue East and brandished a firearm at the clerk.

Surveillance footage obtained by police shows a black male going behind the counter, emptying the cash register, and stealing a case of Swisher Sweet cigars. He then exits the store, running behind Larry’s Restaurant.

The suspect was wearing a face covering and a dark hood over his head. He was also wearing distinctive pants and tennis shoes.
