Two Injured, One Person Deceased After Shooting

Last night at approximately 9:59 PM, Robertson County 911 dispatch received a complaint of shots fired in the area of 15th Ave. West at Bessie Street and dispatched officers with the Springfield Police Department to investigate.  

A few minutes later, at approximately 10:05 PM, dispatch received a complaint of an individual located in the parking lot at 2012 Memorial Boulevard that had been grazed in the leg by a projectile from a firearm. That person received treatment for minor injuries from Robertson County EMS.

Officers were then dispatched to TriStar Northcrest Medical Center for an individual with a possible gun shot wound. The male succumbed to the injuries. An autopsy has been requested of the individual by the Medical Examiner’s Office. The release of the identification of the male is pending full notification of family.

A short time later, a maroon Nissan Altima was located abandoned on 18th Avenue West in the area of J.L. Patterson Boulevard. The scene was processed by investigators and several items of evidence were collected for the investigation. The vehicle was towed from the scene for further investigation in connection to the incident.

At this time the incident is an ongoing, active investigation by the Springfield Police Department Detective Division and is believed to be directly connected to an isolated event involving some kind of dispute among parties.
