2023 Christmas Parade Registration

    The City of Springfield is excited to host the annual lighted Christmas Parade at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2 in downtown Springfield.

    The lighted Christmas Parade provides businesses, schools, bands, and organizations the opportunity to showcase their community spirit and holiday joy by preparing a float or driving in a decorated vehicle. Participants are encouraged to embrace this year’s “Winter Wonderland” theme through music, dress, and decorations.

    All floats must complete this form by Sunday, November 26, 2023. 

    The entry to participate is one (1) new, unwrapped toy per ten (10) float participants. Collected toys will benefit Kiwanis for Kids.

  3. PARTICIPANT GUIDELINES

    This is a NIGHT parade. All parade groups are required to be lit up with lights. No Santa Claus suits are allowed.

    Participant will comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws. Failure to do so may result in immediate forfeiture of participant status. 

    Upon approval, participant acknowledges that they will participate in the event. Late notice cancellation:  If after being approved you are unable to attend the event, notification must be provided via email as soon as possible but no later than three (3) days prior to the event. 

    Please be advised that this event will be photographed and video recorded. Your participation in this event grants the City of Springfield permission to use these photos or videos for promotional purposes.

    RESTRICTIONS - Participants shall not: 

    1. Sell or distribute items during the event; 

    2. Leave a vehicle, cart or their float unattended;

    3. Park at a designated spot overnight, unless written permission is provided by event organizer; 

    4. Vape, use tobacco products or other mind-altering substances, or consume alcohol while on event premises.

    Please note: In the interest of safety, participants will not be permitted to throw candy, swag, or other items from their float(s) during the parade. Please help us keep our parade attendants safe by abiding by this policy!

  6. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT*

    I, the undersigned, in consideration of my participation in the 2023 Springfield Christmas Parade, do hereby release and discharge the City of Springfield and their respective elected officials, officers, directors, employees, volunteers, partners and contractors, jointly and severally, from any and all liability for personal injury accident, illness, death, property damage or other occurrence which I may suffer in any manner whatsoever arising out of, or resulting from, participation in said Parade. 

    I expressly assume ALL risks of my participation in the Parade, including, without limitation, injury as a result of the acts of omission by any of the above-named parties, or some defect in, or on, their property of any of them, whether caused by negligence or otherwise, except for illness and injury resulting directly from the gross negligence or intentional misconduct on the part of the City of Springfield or their employees. I agree to indemnify, save, hold harmless and define the City of Springfield and their respective elected officials, officers, directors, employees, volunteers, partners and contractors, of and from any and all loss, damages, expenses, costs, and attorney’s fees arising out of, or resulting from, my participation in the Parade, including but not limited to any damages arising out of negligent or intentional conduct of other participants or other third parties. 

    I UNDERSTAND THAT THE CITY OF SPRINGFIELD IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SUPERVISION OF PARADE. I certify that any vehicle(s) which will be driven by me (if any) in the Parade has insurance which conforms to the laws of the State of Tennessee and that I have a current valid license. I CERTIFY THAT I HAVE READ AND UNDERSTAND THIS WAIVER AND RELEASE AND THAT, IF SIGNING ON BEHALF OF AN ORGANIZATION, I AM AN AUTHORIZED AGENT OF SAID ORGANIZATION WITH THE POWER TO BIND AND CONTRACT ON BEHALF OF SAID ORGANIZATION.
