The Springfield Parks & Recreation Department is applying for a Tennessee Department of Environment & Conservation Office of Outdoor Recreation Local Parks and Recreation Fund (LPRF) Matching grant to enhance the soccer fields and multi-purpose fields at Martin Luther King Jr. Park. Public input is being sought as part of the application process.
There are multiple ways the public can participate and provide comments on the proposed project. Residents can attend the in-person public meeting at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2026, at The Center, located at 401 N. Main Street.
A social media public meeting will be held on the City of Springfield Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/SpringfieldTNGov). Project information will be posted for public comment on or by March 17, 2026.
Residents can also request a project information packet by calling The Center at 615-382-1655. Input collected through the public meeting and submitted comments will be included in the grant application. The Springfield Parks & Recreation Department encourages all residents to participate and share their public input on the future of local parks and recreation facilities.
