The Springfield Parks & Recreation Department is applying for a Local Parks and Recreation Fund (LPRF) matching grant to enhance the soccer fields at Martin Luther King Jr. Park from grass to turf. Public input is being sought as part of the application process. The department is also updating its 5-Year Parks and Recreation Master Plan and invites residents to participate in a short community survey and a public meeting.
Community feedback plays an important role in both the master plan update and the grant application. Residents are encouraged to share their input by completing the online survey and attending the public meeting.
The public meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 18, at 5:00 p.m. at The Center, located at 401 N. Main Street. The meeting will provide an overview of the master plan update, information on the proposed grant project, and an opportunity for residents to ask questions and provide feedback.
Input collected through the survey and public meeting will be included in the grant application and will help guide future parks and recreation planning efforts. The Springfield Parks & Recreation Department encourages all residents to participate and share their input on the future of local parks and recreation facilities.
