[ARCHIVED] City of Springfield Offices Closed Monday, January 26

IMG_3738

City of Springfield offices will be closed on Monday, January 26, 2026, due to inclement weather conditions. All city parks will also be closed until further notice.

City crews continue working to restore power and clear roadways as safely and quickly as possible. Earlier today, approximately 800 customers were without power; that number has now been reduced to approximately 40. Residents are urged to use extreme caution, as falling tree limbs and downed power lines have been reported in several areas.

Travel should be avoided unless absolutely necessary. Residents are encouraged to remain at home and stay off roadways whenever possible to allow emergency and public works crews to operate safely and efficiently.

Residents whose garbage would have been collected Monday, January 26, will have their carts collected on Wednesday, January 28.

The city will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as new information becomes available.

For the latest weather updates, residents should follow local weather outlets, including the National Weather Service, and monitor the city’s social media channels for updates on city services.
