Public Comment Request - Board of Zonings and Appeals.

  1. Public Comment Period Registration Form

    Any member of the public that wishes to address the Board of Zonings and Appeals regarding any item on the agenda for a meeting must register via the form below no later than 12:00pm on the day prior to the meeting. Include your full name, city of residence, telephone number, topic and relevance to the agenda item to be addressed. Ten (10) spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis. 

    The time allotted to public comment during a meeting will not exceed twenty (20) minutes unless extended by board vote.  The board may solicit additional public comment from members of the audience at the meeting if allotted time remains or anytime it may be helpful to decide matters affecting the city. 

    The Springfield Board of Zoning & Appeals reserves the right to “take all practicable steps to ensure that opposing viewpoints are represented fairly” as outlined in Tennessee state law.

    Any member of the public needing an accommodation for registration due to disability may contact the Community Development Administrative Secretary for assistance.

    Meeting agendas can be viewed in the agenda center.

  2. The Community Development Administrative Secretary shall send electronic confirmation via email to those that are properly registered by 12:00pm the day before the meeting, as well as to those that are not confirmed stating the reason for the denial.

  3. Provide the name of the organization if applicable.

  4. Presentations will be limited to two (2) minutes. A speaker that violates or fails to comply with one or more of the provisions of the policy dictated by Ordinance 23-21 may be subject to punitive action such as suspension from future comment, criminal prosecution (if applicable), etc.
