Utility Box Wrapping

The City of Springfield is seeking artists to create designs that can be reproduced as a vinyl wrap and applied to utility boxes throughout the city. The project is designed to enhance neighborhood and community identity, turn ordinary spaces into community landmarks, and promote community dialogue.

Artist Eligibility

  • Ages 14 and up.
  • Must be a resident of Springfield or Robertson County.

Submissions

Fall- October 10, 2022- November 7, 2022.

Rules

Interested artists must complete the online submission form and provide a high-resolution photo of their artwork. One submission per artist. There is no theme, however artists should integrate the front, back, sides, and top of the box in their design.

Submitted designs must be original artwork and can be created in any medium, so long as it can be represented in, and is submitted as, a high-resolution digital image without loss of integrity or quality.

Artwork will be deemed inappropriate which portrays: content that violates copyright or other known legal ownership interest, profanity, obscenity, indecency, violence, pornography; discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, age, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or nationality; defamation or personal attacks.

Finalists have been selected and the public is invited to vote for their favorite designs Nov. 14-28.

Review the artwork and cast your vote! Winners will be announced on December 1, 2022 and installation is expected to be completed by the end of December.
